Stand your ground soldier.
Fight back-fight back,
Even though you are out-numbered,
And out-matched.
Stand your ground soldier.
Don’t give up,
They’re closing in on you;
Your team-mates have fallen,
left you to perish alone.
Discouraged,
You are not,
Fighting alone is what you do best,
You keep fighting on,
Even when death is the final outcome.
Stand down soldier.
Why do you keep pushing yourself?
Beaten and battered,
Yet never learning to stay down.
You arrogant fool!
You can’t continuously do this to yourself!
Open your eyes soldier!
Don’t you see you’re blind?
You say you’re alone,
With no one to hold,
And yet you have many people holding you tightly.
Stay down soldier!
Don’t get up again.
Bloody, beaten and alone,
You’ve run your body to the ground,
You’re loved one is calling out to you,
Why don’t you respond?
Get up soldier!
You’re going home.
Back to your wife and son.
Now live happily and love one another,
With all your heart, mind, strength and soul.
You’re home now soldier.
You don’t need to fight anymore.
